As I am due back at the London Conference Venue, Etc.Venues County Hall in a couple of weeks, I thought I should look back at some of the conferences that I have photographed there, as the conference photographer of choice on previous occasions. The venue is incredibly well located, in London’s iconic County Hall building, spread over the 3rd and 4th floors, opposite Westminster and a few minutes walk from Waterloo Station. It also offers incredible views of the river, from where you can spot iconic London landmarks such as Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye.
Conference Photographer: Etc.Venues County Hall – Welcome and registration
On arrival there are multiple options for presenting your very own individual branding, prior to arriving at the registration desk, where there are also display screens where your Conference branding can be on display. This makes for great background for the conference photographs as it adds context to them – I make sure I include this branding in my photographs when photographing your conference at Etc. Venues County Hall.
Conference Photographer: Networking
Moving from registration, delegates get immersed in networking! After all, face-to-face conferences and events are all about networking. Of course, having attended thought provoking sessions, you want to be able to share those thoughts and ideas with other delegates – then, opportunities will arise! Etc.Venues County Hall has definitely got the space for it, where you can get a coffee and also a look around at the different conference exhibitors. As a conference photographer my aim is to capture all the different exhibitors and networking opportunities in a unobtrusive manner – a skill that I have gained working as a professional Photographer for over 20 years.
This space offers multiple options to have your own Conference Branding on display, which helps incredibly to add context to the conference photography. These brand elements can be included in the background or perhaps photographs can be composed making sure that it is included in either side of them.
Etc.Venues County Hall: Unique features
The networking and exhibitor space has some strategically positioned mirrors where, as a conference photographer, are really welcomed!
The actual conference
Etc.Venues County Hall offers multiple spaces for the sessions to take place, with a large plenary room for keynote speakers or panel discussions
Also, multiple sessions can be taking place at the same time as Etc.Venues has multiple rooms around the main plenary room.
Post Conference Entertainment
Quite often, once the Conference Day comes to a close there are some post-conference drinks, to catch up with other attendees and interchange reflections of the day.
Sometimes there is also some form of entertainment, like a magician that won’t stop surprising the attendees. It makes great spontaneous, reaction photographs, which I really love capturing.
Or a juggler that will bring some fresh acrobatic tricks
Etc.Venues County Hall can offer anything from a drinks reception with a bar, to a Mercato style with different food outlets covering all different cuisines – and something sweet to put the cherry on top of a fantastic day!
