Next week I will be returning to the Business Design Centre, wearing my London Trade Show Photographer hat, as The Stitch Festival 2023 is taking place – and I am their London photographer of choice! You can see another example of my Trade Show Photography in this other blog post here
I have photographed multiple shows and events previously at the Business Design Centre. This experience is extremely helpful as I know the venue inside out. Also, I have photographed the previous edition of The Stitch Festival, so I am familiar with it! You can see my 2022 Gallery on The Stitch Festival website here. It is often that I get return clients and that for me is the best form of feedback that a photographer can get.

The Stitch Festival at the Business Design Centre
Based in London, the Business Design Centre is a Grade II listed building, and is one of the most popular Exhibition Venues – i have attended it as a Trade Show Photographer, a Consumer Show Photographer, but also as an Event Photographer on multiple occasions. As a London event photographer, it means that the opportunities are endless, and I have the versatility to enable me to cover multiple types of events – I believe that it is that diversity that fuels my creative instincts.

The Stitch Festival
Customers experience a world of creativity and inspiration, featuring a diverse range of exhibitors and displays, showcasing the latest trends and techniques in the stitching world. A long weekend of fun and exploration, with workshops, demos, and plenty of opportunities to connect with like-minded stitching enthusiasts. If you are into stitching don’t miss out on this exciting event at the Business Design Centre!
On Arrival Customers were directed by the extremely helpful staff, providing them with the show guides

Also they could purchase some of the merchandise, like this tote bag where they could carry all their purchases in style!

Customers could purchase multiple pattern fabrics, materials from exhibitors like The Fabric Godmother which specialises in dress making fabrics or Higgs and Higgs one of the UK’s top fabric companies stocking a unique, top quality and modern selection of beautiful fabrics.

The variety of exhibitors was incredible, like this stand that was selling sustainable craft and crochet kits Stitching me Softly

The Stitch Festival: The workshops
On offer there was a wide selection of workshops where visitors could learn new skills or perfect their existing ones. The workshops were sponsored by the top brands of the stitching world, such as Juki or Brother, just to name a few.

The Stitch Festival was an incredible success and the word has spread, as this is the place to be if you are a stitching/sewing fanatic judging by how busy it was in the exhibition hall. So if you suffer from FOMO get your tickets now!

After so much shopping and workshops, The Stitch Festival has everything covered – customers and the workshop talk VIP’s could take a break in the areas that the show organisers, Immediate Live, had dotted around the venue.

When I photograph the talks, lectures I always make sure that as well as taking close-up pictures of the speaker animated, I include as much as possible of the event branding in the images, so when these images get use they are well contextualised. Also, I step back and take wide photographs of the talk to show how well it was attended.

As well as workshops, theatre lectures and many more stitching related stands, the Festival runs a Dress-making Competition where all abilities are welcome and the finalists are on display during the Festival.
When I photograph any form of event I always pay attention to detail, and as well as photographing the wider shots I always capture close-ups of details. These shots are very important as they can get plenty of use – not just in Social Media but also for future marketing material. Also, I like to capture those details that are a bit different or quirky, so it reflects the uniqueness of your event, exhibition, show or festival in this case.

Also, details of the more traditional and obvious stitching related products like this other photograph of a display of sewing threads – I played a bit with the angle and perspective and created a colourful and vibrant image

I also spotted with my camera other related crafts in the Knitting lounge area, where visitors could get advice from knitting experts and practice, while giving a break to their tired feet after visiting all that the exhibitors hall had to offer!

Visitors take the opportunity to get some advice from knitting experts at The Stitch Festival

And as you can see, even while taking a break from the show visitors are still sharing their crafting tips over a glass of bubbly!
Looking for a London Trade Show Photographer? Organising a London Consumer Show and need it photographed?
Consumer shows like The Stitch Festival are events that showcase products and services to potential customers. These shows can be an excellent opportunity for businesses to connect with their target audience and showcase their products. As a consumer show photographer, it’s important to have a certain set of skills to capture the best moments of the event. I have highlighted below the skills that I will bring should you hire my London Trade Show Photographer, London Consumer Show Photographer services:
- Attention to Detail I have a keen eye for detail, making sure that I capture the small details that make the show unique such as the intricate design of a product or the facial expressions of attendees. Paying attention to these details can help to create a story and capture the essence of the show/event.
- Creativity Creativity is essential in any form of photography, and consumer show photography is no exception. I will follow your brief to detail but I will also think outside the box and capture unique situations. By doing so, I will capture visually engaging images that stand out from the crowd.
- Communication Skills I am extremely good at building a rapport with not only my client but also with the show attendees. I believe that effective communication is crucial when photographing any form of event and even more in consumer show photography where I find myself interacting with the customers and also the different companies that have stands around your show. I pride myself in being presentable, polite and very skilled in making people feel comfortable around me.
- Time Management Skills Consumer shows are fast-paced events, and I am able to manage my time effectively – moving quickly from one location to another to capture the key moments of the event. This also reflects in my post-show delivery, as I will provide you with highlights of the show during and right after it, so you can use them while they are “fresh from the press” in your social media and marketing materials.
