I have been an Events Photographer in London for over 18 years, so I bring a huge amount of experience to any kind of event and even more so to an Awards Ceremony in The Brewery London. I have documented hundreds of special occasions with my Event Photography.
In my opinion the best shots come from my knowledge and ability to anticipate those important moments, but equally from being able to think on my feet to contend with the spontaneous nature of Event Photography.
I have used Carmen for many events over the years including Awards Ceremonies, Conferences and Drinks Receptions. It is always an absolute pleasure to work with her as she’s very friendly, efficient and the work she produces is always fantastic! She goes above and beyond to ensure all aspects of the brief are captured and the photos are sent across very quickly too. I won’t hesitate to continue using Carmen for all my events going forward! I feel really privileged to be able to access all the incredible London venues – like The Brewery London in the heart of The City of London. Over the years I have photographed numerous Award dinners and lunches there. It is an absolutely bullet-proof venue, often hosting back-to-back events.
The Brewery London – Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards
The occasion this time was to celebrate the Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards 2023. The room was absolutely full of outstanding talent and they were eager to celebrate it and collect all those well deserved Awards. I have photographed these Awards for the past 4 years and I feel truly privileged that they keep booking my Event Photography services. The organisers, Redactive Media, always deliver beyond expectations and their events are consistently an incredible success, something I have been able to witness year after year through my photography.
As well as photographing all the key moments of the event, for me it is very important to keep an eye out for all those memorable, spontaneous and unique moments that you don’t expect. Once it is over you can’t recreate them, they are gone.
On arrival, I check in with the event planner to see if there are any last minute changes from the original photography brief. It is very important to have a heads-up on the schedule, so I know where I have to be at which times. As well as photographing all the different details, close-ups, wide shots of the room looking busy
you will often find me where the person that laughs the loudest in the room is – that’s where the best candid shots will be.
The host for this evening awards was Jo Caulfield, one of the finest female British Comedians.
I have previously photographed award gala dinners where Jo was the host and she always comes well prepared – she researches the different companies, creates very personalised scripts that get the room engaged and full of laughter. I loved capturing the reactions of the crowd and she really kept me busy as the laughter came from every direction!
On arrival, guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbles for the drinks reception, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner, just to get ready to collect the prestigious Awards – a celebration of the talent in the recruitment industry.
Your take away from Event Photography
If you are planning an Awards dinner and are considering the need of a photographer, make sure that you hire a professional photographer with experience in this particular type of event. Someone with experience in that specific venue is a plus, but also someone that has photographed Awards dinners over the years in different venues and has experience with all types of lighting and skilled in the use of a flash.
I would also advise you to see a full gallery of a previous Awards dinner so you know that post-Awards you will receive a high quality edited set of images that you will be able to utilise in your different marketing materials, or just to treasure all those moments of a wonderful evening.
