just eat

I was approached by the online food-ordering giant to produce a body of vibrant images to populate their new careers’ website. They wanted to highlight the “Talent Behind Just Eat”, so the main focus of the project was to show the diversity and uniqueness of their people and to reflect the exciting vibe of the workplace.

The shoot took place in three of their UK offices over three days. To deliver the brief I captured the employees’ individualism and unique style with reportage style photography and headshots, showing them at work in the most natural way.

The company also requested pictures of their office space and some close-up abstract images which would convey their creative working environment.

costa coffee
The client wanted a selection of photographs to use in their global campaign “The Home of Irresistible Coffee” to represent their warm and welcoming cafés as places where their customers could relax and recharge.

Shooting on location in two of their Central London branches while the stores remained open for customers was a big challenge, and I was extremely happy to have the opportunity to take it.

The job involved a number of logistics: working with models, styling on location, and permits, but I was able to focus on shooting an outstanding lifestyle image library for Costa to be used for worldwide PR, Internal Comms, online, and social media.

the olympic park legacy company
The OPLC appointed me as their official photographer to produce a library of brand images that would help the world visualise their regeneration project – the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The company needed to create a brand from scratch and establish a strong identity. I wanted to make it vibrant, dynamic, and colourful, to reflect the communities of East London, and the new lease of life that the new residents will bring to the park.

The project took months and was shot over multiple locations across London. I feel very proud of the way I was able to visualise their concept and I believe my work was a great asset to the project.

I worked closely with the design agency, and the project launched along with the release of a large-format publication by the then Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

“Since the park and surrounds were a building site, with the publication we had to create a vision of the future. Carmen had to capture swimming families, Georgian terraces, commuters, micro-businesses in full swing. We needed her to make each image authentic, and yet, since this is a project [that] we wanted thousands of local people and politicians to get behind, she had to try and capture humour, exuberance, positivity. Oh, and great busy composition too. As always, she excelled.”

the royal college of midwives

The Royal College of Midwives was going through a complete rebranding by changing all their visual content. I had a meeting with their marketing team where we discussed their needs and priorities.

The key here was that all images were going to be done with real midwives on busy maternity wards – a challenge that I was really excited to take as there is nothing that I love more than working in a busy environment.

The RCM were thrilled with the resulting pictures, which captured the excitement and joy of the midwives’ work.

“I saw the pictures you have taken, and I cried! They are so beautiful! They truly give back the atmosphere, the life and happiness in the children’s eyes and that tells much more than I can say in any report to any funder. Thank you so much for making the effort and doing this work for us, it means a lot.”

Do you have a question about my London brand photographer work?

What kind of brands and companies do you work with?

My London brand photographer clients are extremely diverse, from international companies such us Just Eat or Luxury goods like LVMH to small individuals, Universities and Schools, restaurants, shopping centres, Olympic Games and NHS trust. I believe that this client diversity is what fuels my creativity.

What images can we expect from you?

During the enquiry process we will discuss what images and content are you after, website, social channels, online and print marketing. I work closely with individuals or design teams to make sure that the images that I produce fit exactly with the client’s needs. We can create a shot list to make sure that all the content needed gets captured.

Do I need to be present during the shot?

You don’t need to be! But equally I am happy for you to be there, art direct and approve the images.

Can you guide us through the process?
I would love to! We can discuss your vision and I will bring my 20 years of experience to the table so we can obtain the best results for your branding/content photography session. I can work with you, bringing ideas on how to make things work from a photographic point of view to show off your brand to the world! I specialise in website content, online campaigns, social media, and I have worked on campaigns not just UK based but worldwide.
Do you shoot in studio or on location?
Most of my shots are done on location, as it was the client’s preference and it’s where I feel most comfortable with. I bring my portable studio anywhere that it’s needed, and if any additional equipment or crew is required, I have an extensive network of hiring companies and professionals that I can recruit and create a team that works seamlessly.
Do you produce video content?
I work closely with videographers so I can always recommend one of my very trusted colleagues to join the project.
