My first event photography of 2023 took me to the prestigious London venue, Chatham House – which each year, runs more than 300 private and public events-conferences, workshops and roundtables. I have been privileged to be the Chatham House London Event photographer on numerous occasions.
Oxford University Business Programme 70th year anniversary
Chatham House was their venue of choice to celebrate such an occasion. I was truly honoured to be approached to be their event photographer, as Chatham House recommended my services.
Guests were welcomed with a drink and everyone was having a really good time judging by the amount of laughter that I was able to capture with my skills as an experienced event photographer. I know where to be at the right time and I capture all of these moments with my unobtrusive event photography – known broadly as fly-on-the-wall photography.

It was a great event where guests were sharing memories and I captured those moments of togetherness

From my event photography you can expect all those organic memorable moments candid pictures of guest and the room looking busy as well as close up details which are relevant to your event like this branded canvas bags and publications, my aim for any event that I photograph is to create a variety of posed and candid photographs of both people and scenery.

Chatham House London: OUBEP 70th year anniversary
From the drinks reception guests were moved to the main auditorium for the evening lecture. My aim is to capture dynamic photographs of each speaker in the most unobtrusive manner and avoid the use of flash

Sir Andrew Dilnot addressed the guests with an extremely insightful masterclass in Social Care which was attended by the OUBEP network as well as the Nuffield alumni at Chatham House London venue.

There were as well other speakers including Creon Butler who leads the Global Economy and Finance Programme at Chatham House

Discreetly I will move around the room to photograph it from different angles and show how busy it was

As well as capturing reactions from the audience

At the end of the evening guests were given a farewell gift to commemorate the occasion

What to expect when hiring me for this type of event?
When hiring me as a London event photographer for a lecture event you can expect to receive an album with images of each presenter, which I will capture discretely while the lecture is happening, as well as pictures of the audience not only engaged but also enjoying themselves. When capturing all of these pictures I don’t use the flash and I just photograph them with the available light to make sure that I blend in and I don’t cause any form of distraction to the speaker or to the audience.
During the drinks reception the use of flash was more suitable as in this instance people are more relaxed and just having a chat and enjoying themselves. I believe that the photographs of that evening represent what it was to be there, so people that couldn’t be there can get a real taste of what the evening was like by looking at the photographs that I produced.
When can you expect your event pictures to be delivered?
I can supply images during the event if needed for social channels, on this occasion they wanted a selection of images right after the event and the full edited album the following day. This can be easily adapted to any particular requirement as I can bring my laptop and quickly edit a handful of images there and then.
